If you haven’t heard Windows Azure is LIVE! I’ve just sign-up a full account my MSDN Subscription using the offer which gives me 8 months of free usage at pretty reasonable levels.
The thing I’ve wanted to do the most is get videos from my old and now redundant Silverlight Streaming account published on Windows Azure. David Sayed has documented how to do this in a series of blog posts.
While working through these posts, I discovered a couple of new plug-ins to download for Live Writer and Expression Encoder 3. The plug-ins give these products access to your Blob storage containers on Windows Azure, making it dead easy to publish video content directly from Expression Encoder 3 and then put it in your blog posts with Windows Live Writer.
The plug-ins are published as follows:
Windows Live Writer on Code Gallery
Expression Encoder 3 on Codeplex
I have also used Cerebrata Software’s Cloud Storage Studio to configure access policies and move blogs, create containers etc. It works really well.
I know have over 700 videos to move from Filmsforlearning.org’s Silverlight Streaming account to a new Azure account. Me thinks Cloud Storage Studio is going to earn its keep!
